This book is a translation of Les Institutions de l'Ancien Testament, published in two volumes by Les Editions du Cerf, Paris; the first volume was published in two volumes by Les Editions du Cerf, Paris; the first volume was published in 1958, the second in 1960. The translation has been made from this first edition of the French original, but it incorporates a number of additions and corrections which Fr de Vaux wishes to see inserted in the text; he has also brought the entire bibliography up to date to the beginning of 1961.
