The second level book in the geni@l sequence continues to build upon the student's previous knowledge, expanding his/her linguistic and cultural horizon via varied activities and multiple projects. Additionally, the student is encouraged to reflect on his/her own learning through portfolio-building activities. Level A2 of geni@l advances the learner to the Council of Europe's internationally recognized A2 level of proficiency. Colorfully illustrated chapters with well thought out communicative activities and language exercise focus on teens in their German-speaking world as they interact with their peers, their school environment, their families and their surroundings. They are challenged to form opinions on such relevant issues as the responsibilities of friendship, the role of mass media in their lives, their choice of diet, money management, et. al. Topics include youthful venues such as a class trip, a student party, the Bundesjugendspiele, and much more. The text combines language pedagogy with humor and wit to engage and challenge young learners.
