When Charlie Trotter starts the seventh grade his whole world is changing, his best friend abandons him, the weirdest girl in school wont leave him alone, and his hero Peyton Manning has left his beloved Tennessee Volunteers for a career in the pros. So when his parents tell him they are getting a divorce it seems like happy doesnt happen anymore. Knowing he is getting him on the weekends, Charlies Dad splurges on season tickets while claiming that this years Volunteers are going to be special. Without their star quarterback, and a tough schedule ahead, Charlie finds it hard to share his fathers optimism. But as the Volunteers keep winning against all odds, Charlie learns good things can happen in a rebuilding year.
