Product Overview

Pomegranate's William Morris coloring book features 22 arts & crafts wallpaper designs by the unequalled English pattern designer. Coloring pages are blank on the back so they can be cut out and displayed. Published with the Brooklyn Museum of Art. One forty-eight page 8 1/2 x 11 in. book with twenty-two images to color. Each illustration is reproduced in a small, color version of the original artwork and as a full-page black line drawing.
William Morris was an English artist and designer who lived from 1834 to 1896. One of his many talents was drawing wallpaper designs. You'll find 22 of his designs in this coloring book. They are shown as small reproductions on the inside front and back covers. When you color in these designs, you might want to try to copy his colors, or you might decide to use your own. You'll notice that for three of the designs, he used just one color, or shades of one color, plus white. Will those designs look better to you with lots of color? See what you think!

On the last page, try creating your own wallpaper design. Grid lines are printed to help you. Draw your pattern in a square or a group of squares, then copy it into other squares. Remember wallpaper designs have to repeat themselves in order to cover a big space. The simpler your pattern, the easier it will be!
