I love the style of this book. Small and not intimidating at all, but with lovely verses to color and practice copying. Kids and adults will hardly notice that they are learning to spell better and memorizing verses as they work through this. This would be great for a child who isn't quite old enough to get much out of a sermon, but is too old to go to a children's church. If they aren't strong readers this can help with reading as well, just be sure you read them the verse first and then have them repeat the words after you. Then when they color the words in or copy the verse the words and verse will sink in and go into long term memory.

Depending on your child's abilities he or she will be prompted to write a poem using the spelling words OR write the definition of each spelling words at the end of the book. Either method will help your child master the meaning of the word. Older students can do both activities.
