Although Katie is paralyzed on her right side, has frequent seizures and limited speech, she encourages and inspires those around her. She loves to serve others by doing household chores and regularly volunteering at a Christian school and at H.O.P.E., a local food pantry. Katie is a devoted follower of Christ and says the joy of the Lord is truly her strength.Co-author Niki Baker is a retired special education teacher and author of two books, A Promise Kept and The Unbroken Twig. She lives with her husband, Robert, in St. Mary's County, Maryland, and has three grown children. Aside from working with Katie once a week, Niki volunteers in her community and teaches at her church.
