Product Overview
Charles Burnett said in Conquering the Wilderness: On October 24, 1892, trains were running through on schedule times from New York to Montreal. A railroad 190 miles through a wilderness had been constructed and placed in operation within eighteen months from the time the surveys were started. It is doubtful if this record, which was phenomenal in view of the difficulties involved, has ever been equaled under similar conditions. Replete with pictures, rosters, and timetables.
