When I was searching for my future college, finding Hamilton was more accidental than anything else. Though Hamilton is the third oldest college in New York state, it was just beginning to gain the name recognition it deserved. For those who are familiar with the school, the name Hamilton College is impressive; but for the majority of the world, Hamilton is just beginning to show up on the radar. In my small town, nobody had heard of Hamilton, but I decided to take a chance and visit anyway. I could not have made a better decision for my education.
Hamilton is a wonderful academic environment fostering creativity and intellectualism among its students and faculty. Hamilton graduates go on to excel in their profession with a strong background in written and oral communication skills.
Hamilton has a history of valuing a well-rounded education. A strong liberal arts background prepares graduates for the many obstacles found throughout life. This is done through Hamiltons unique curriculum, which has done away with distribution requirements. Students are responsible for the college experience of their choice. The lack of distribution requirements opens four years of study to many opportunities, including a year abroad, research endeavors, and independent projects.
If youre seriously considering Hamilton, you probably know all of this. The real issue here is whether or not you could be happy on the hill. While other guides give you two pages of information that are sugarcoated propaganda, this book paints you a realistic picture of life here at Hamilton.
