For more than a quarter-century Woody Hayes personified the Ohio State Buckeyes as the school's combustible yet compassionate head football coach. Much like two of his famous peers, Vince Lombardi and Bobby Knight, Hayes was noted for his fiery demeanor and gift for molding incredibly successful teams built on character and mutual loyalty. In 28 seasons at Ohio State, Hayes won or shared thirteen Big Ten titles and captured three national championships, winning more than 200 games in the process.
