Product Overview

Mildred MacGregor, RN, a member of the Third Auxiliary Surgical Group from 1942-1945, traveled to the major battlefields of World War II to tend to the wounded. As part of a frontline team consisting of two surgeons and four enlisted men, her team set up field hospitals, which were usually in tents, and administered care to the severely wounded. To document her experiences, she always carried her medical equipment, camera, and notebooks. MacGregor, who is now 95, used her notebooks and photos to publish a book about her experiences - a book she started writing 30 years ago after raising her children. As a result, MacGregor, a retired nurse in Ann Arbor, Mich., recently self-published her book, World War II Front Line Nurse. From Nurse.com, review by Jane Ammeson
